Further Evidence Of Law Firm’s Rapid Growth In South Carolina Market

(Columbia, S.C., February 8, 2006) – Signaling a major effort to expand its real estate and commercial development practice in South Carolina, Parker Poe Adams & Bernstein LLP today announced that Simpson Z. Fant has joined the law firm as a partner in Parker Poe’s Columbia office.

Fant comes to Parker Poe from Nelson Mullins Riley & Scarborough LLP, where he was a partner in the firm’s real estate practice group. He brings to Parker Poe a wealth of knowledge in commercial transactions, commercial real estate and multi-family housing finance through HUD/FHA insurance programs.

Fant is a member of the South Carolina Bar, the American Bar Association and the Richland County Bar Association. Prior to embarking on his legal career, he worked as a municipal bond and government securities trader and as a commercial loan officer with a leading S.C. bank.

Fant received his J.D. in 1993 from the University of South Carolina School of Law, where he was named to the Order of the Coif, the Order of Wig and Robe, the Moot Court Bar, and the Order of Barristers. He also served as student works editor of the South Carolina Law Review and as a legal writing instructor. In 1985, Fant received his B.S. in business administration, cum laude, from the University of South Carolina, where he was elected to Phi Beta Kappa.
