(CHARLOTTE, July 5, 2006) – Kristi K. Walters, Special Counsel and Director of Professional Development & Diversity for Parker Poe Adams & Bernstein LLP, has been named to the Professional Development Consortium.
The Professional Development Consortium is a national organization that brings together individuals at law firms, government agencies and corporations who oversee professional development programs for attorneys. An attorney with Parker Poe since 1999, Ms. Walters was named the firm’s Director of Professional Development & Diversity in January 2006. In this newly created position, Ms. Walters designs and integrates programs that impact professional development including recruitment, training, mentoring, leadership development and career planning. She dedicates two-thirds of her time to this new role, while continuing to practice law in the firm’s Employment Practice Group.
Ms. Walters received her J.D., with honors, from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill in 1999 and her B.A., cum laude, from Davidson College in 1991.
