In an unprecedented move, the Department of State just announced that effective as of July 2, 2007 visa numbers for all employment-based preference categories will be unavailable until at least October 1, 2007. This announcement has been made despite its previous Visa Bulletin that visa numbers for the first three (3) employment based preference categories would be current for the month of July. As a result of this decision, Citizenship and Immigration Services has been directed that no further requests for immigrant visa numbers will be authorized at this time.
