American Bar Foundation Selects Hank Hankins as Fellow

Irvin W. Hankins III (“Hank”) has been selected to become a Fellow of the American Bar Foundation. The Fellows is an honorary organization of attorneys, judges and law professors whose professional, private and public careers have demonstrated outstanding dedication to the welfare of their communities and to the highest principles of the legal profession.

This distinct honor is limited to one third of one percent of lawyers licensed to practice in each jurisdiction. Members are nominated by their Fellows in the jurisdiction and elected by the Board of the American Bar Foundation.

Mr. Hankins is a partner in the Litigation department of Parker Poe Adams & Bernstein LLP and General Counsel to the Firm. He served as the Firm’s Managing Partner for sixteen years. In addition to counseling clients in commercial and business litigation, Mr. Hankins advises professional organizations regarding management issues, partnership structures, partnership disputes and legal ethics. 

Mr. Hankins is the current President of the North Carolina State Bar and on the Board of Trustees for Queens University of Charlotte. Mr. Hankins has served as President of the University of North Carolina Law Alumni and as General Counsel for the Charlotte Chamber of Commerce.

Mr. Hankins received his JD, with honors and his AB from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill.
