Henry Campen Named to Two University Posts

Parker Poe Adams & Bernstein LLP’s Raleigh office Managing Partner, Henry Campen, has been selected to two University positions. He will serve a four-year term on both North Carolina State University’s Board of Visitors and Wake Forest University’s Alumni Council.

The Board of Visitors serves NC State University by providing advice to the Chancellor, and through the Chancellor, to the Board of Trustees. The Board of Visitors is composed of thirty members. Their duties include assisting the Chancellor and the Board of Trustees in ensuring that NC State University's relative standing among the premier universities in America is maintained and enhanced, serving as advocates for NC State University in achieving its educational purposes and accomplishments, and bringing visibility and contacts to the campus from distant areas.

The Wake Forest Alumni Council acts as a link between the University administration and the alumni body of over 36,000. There are approximately 75 Council members; each person serves a three year term. Council members work with the University to support the annual giving campaigns, student recruitment, and alumni events. The Council also encourages alumni to visit campus during the year and to participate in Wake Forest events that are held throughout the country.

Throughout his career, Henry Campen has helped emerging industries and high-tech companies establish and expand across the Southeast. Mr. Campen represents clients on permitting and regulatory matters with a focus on renewable energy development. His clients include wind, solar and biomass companies.

Mr. Campen currently serves as Parker Poe’s Raleigh Office Managing Partner and is a member of the Firm’s Board of Directors. In addition, he is a member of the Board of Advisors for the College of Management at North Carolina State University, the Board of Directors for SAFEchild, and the Board of Advisors for Camp Sea Gull/Camp Seafarer. Mr. Campen received his JD, summa cum laude, 1986 from North Carolina Central University, his MPA, 1978 from American University and his BA, 1971 from Wake Forest University.
