(COLUMBIA, S.C.)— Parker Poe Adams & Bernstein LLP announced today that the firm has appointed Sidney J. Evering II as its new Director of Diversity. Mr. Evering will take on this role previously held by Kristi Kessler Walters, who was just named the firm’s first-ever Chief Talent Officer.

As the new Director of Diversity, Mr. Evering will promote and implement diversity and inclusion initiatives. He will also play a vital role in helping the firm expand relationships and opportunities with minority-owned businesses.

“We understand that promoting diversity among attorneys and staff is essential to the success of the firm and our clients,” said Bill Farthing, Managing Partner of Parker Poe. “Sidney’s capabilities will greatly benefit and deepen Parker Poe’s commitment to all of our diversity efforts.”

Mr. Evering is Special Counsel in the firm’s Columbia office. He earned his JD from the University of South Carolina in 2002.
