(COLUMBIA, S.C.)—Ray E. Jones, a partner in the Columbia office of Parker Poe, has been elected to the South Carolina Economic Developer’s Association (SCEDA) board of directors. SCEDA serves as South Carolina’s voice of economic development and is a professional trade association with more than 550 members.

A member of SCEDA for 12 years, Mr. Jones previously served on the legislative committee and was heavily involved in the development of the organization’s legislative agenda. He will continue to work with this committee and the board to tailor the agenda based on the constantly changing market and economic legislation of the state of South Carolina. Mr. Jones will serve a two-year term on the board of directors.

Mr. Jones works in the Firm’s Economic Development group advising governments on how to structure incentive packages to lure new business and industry to their communities and counseling corporations with respect to these matters.

For the last two years, Mr. Jones has been named to Woodward/White’s The Best Lawyers in America in Economic Development. He received his JD, Master of International Business Studies and BS from the University of South Carolina.
