(RALEIGH, N.C.)–Catharine Biggs Arrowood, a partner in the Raleigh office of Parker Poe Adams & Bernstein LLP, received the H. Brent McKnight Renaissance Lawyer Award for 2011. The award was presented during the President’s Luncheon at the NC Bar Association’s Annual Meeting, which was held in June at the Grove Park Inn Resort & Spa in Asheville.
"It is truly an honor to be recognized with the McKnight Award from the North Carolina Bar Association," said Ms. Arrowood. "Judge McKnight's work was inspiring for attorneys everywhere, and I plan to continue my commitment to the profession and the community.”
The McKnight Award is named in memory of Judge H. Brent McKnight who served on the U.S. District Court for the Western District of North Carolina. The award recognizes attorneys who demonstrate “Renaissance Lawyer” qualities, including intellectual achievement, excellent work and inspiring community service – the same qualities embodied by Judge McKnight.
Following in the footsteps of Mark Bernstein, retired-of counsel in Parker Poe’s Charlotte office, Ms. Arrowood becomes only the sixth recipient of the McKnight Award. Previous award winners include:
- E. Osborne Ayscue, Jr. (2007)
