Last week, the National Labor Relations Board announced a new posting requirement that advises employees of their rights to organize and form a union. The new poster must be in place for most private U.S. employers by November 14. Employers that currently use an internet or intranet posting to fulfill other labor legal notifications can also use this method for the new poster. If twenty percent or more of the workforce is not English proficient, the employer must post a translated version of the poster.
The new poster is similar to one already required for federal contractors. It advises employees of their collective bargaining rights, and provides NLRB contact information for employees who believe their rights have been violated. As of today, the poster is not available for download, but will soon be accessible here.
