(COLUMBIA, S.C.)—L. Dwight Floyd, a partner in the Columbia office of Parker Poe Adams & Bernstein LLP, was appointed to the Board of Directors of the South Carolina Chamber of Commerce. Mr. Floyd will serve a one-year term.
Mr. Floyd concentrates his practice primarily in commercial litigation, with an emphasis on science and technology issues and the unique challenges they present to business disputes. He represents clients in a wide variety of conflicts in the manufacturing, financial, technology, service and construction industries. Mr. Floyd is also a graduate of the Trial Advocacy Institute at the National Trial Advocacy College.
In addition to his role on the SC Chamber’s Board of Directors, Mr. Floyd serves on the Board of Trustees of the South Carolina Governor's School for Science and Mathematics, a role he has held since 2010. He is also a member of the Defense Research Institute and the Rotary Club of St. Andrews-Columbia.
Mr. Floyd received his JD from the University of Virginia, his MS from Colorado State University and his BS, summa cum laude, from Clemson University.
