Nancy Olah Elected Board Chair of USGBC Charlotte Region Chapter

(CHARLOTTE, N. C.)—Nancy L. Olah, Counsel in the Charlotte office of Parker Poe Adams & Bernstein LLP, was elected Chair of the Board of Directors of the U.S. Green Building Council (USGBC) – Charlotte Region Chapter. Ms. Olah will serve a one-year term.

The USGBC is a non-profit organization committed to a prosperous and sustainable future for the nation through cost-efficient and energy-saving green buildings. With a community comprising nearly 16,000 member companies and organizations, and more than 170,000 LEED Professional Credential holders, USGBC is the driving force of an industry that is projected to contribute $554 billion to the U.S. gross domestic product from 2009-2013. There are 79 chapters throughout the U.S. that serve as the local voice of the organization.

Ms. Olah has a wide range of real estate and transactional experience and focuses her practice on sustainable development and commercial development, leasing and lending. She is a LEED® Accredited Professional (Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design) from the Green Building Certification Institute.

In addition to her role on the USGBC – Charlotte Chapter Board, Ms. Olah also serves on the CREW Network Chapter Communications Task Force and Chairs the Programs Committee for CREW Carolina Connection, a two-day networking event for CREW members in North Carolina and South Carolina.

Ms. Olah received her JD, cum laude, from the University of Michigan and her BA from Oberlin College.

Founded in 2005, the Charlotte Region Chapter of the United States Green Building Council has quickly grown to over 600 members. The mission of USGBC CRC is to transform the way buildings and communities are designed, built and operated through education, promotion, and advocacy of sustainable practices. The Chapter covers 37 counties in western North Carolina and is based in Charlotte.
