(RALEIGH, NC) – Melanie Black Dubis, a Partner in the Raleigh office of Parker Poe Adams & Bernstein LLP, has been reelected as the chair of the Carolina Ballet board of directors. In this role, Ms. Dubis will continue to work with other board members, Artistic Director Robert Weiss, the Ballet staff, as well as the community, to ensure the Ballet remains a premiere arts organization with top talent from around the world.

Ms. Dubis has served on the Ballet’s board of directors since 2005 and as chair since 2011. She was formerly the co-chair of the Ballet’s development committee, leading fundraising efforts for the organization.

In addition to her work with the Ballet, Ms. Dubis has served as pro bono general counsel for Alliance of AIDS Services, Carolina since 2001, and is a member of the advisory board of Connected Women of North Carolina.

Ms. Dubis was selected as a nominee for the Chambers USA: Women in Law Awards 2013. She was also named among The Best Lawyers in America in antitrust and commercial litigation for 2013.

Ms. Dubis received her bachelor’s degree from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill and a JD degree from Vanderbilt University.
