(RALEIGH, N.C.) – Rebecca B. Joyner, a Partner in the Raleigh office of Parker Poe Adams & Bernstein, has been selected as a recipient of the Triangle Business Journal’s 2013 Women in Business Awards. This honor is reserved for women who have proven to be dynamic and outstanding leaders in their fields and the community.
Ms. Joyner has been with Parker Poe since 2004. She is a Partner in the Firm’s Public Finance Group where she works with local governments across the state to secure capital for public building projects. Some notable transactions she’s handled include the revitalization of Fayetteville Street and the Raleigh Convention Center and the construction of the Durham Performing Arts Center.
Ms. Joyner has been selected as a “Rising Star” in Bonds/Government Finance by North Carolina Super Lawyers since 2010, an honor that is awarded to only 2.5 percent of lawyers in the state. In 2007, she spearheaded the North Carolina Women in Public Finance (NCWPF), a statewide educational and professional networking organization for women in the public finance industry. Today the group has more than 70 active members and is recognized as a contributing voice in the field.

Currently, Ms. Joyner serves on the board of directors of the Make-A-Wish Foundation of Eastern North Carolina. She also works with the NC Center for Nonprofits providing pro bono counsel to various nonprofit organizations across the state.
Ms. Joyner received her BA from The University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill, where she graduated with honors, her MPA from Columbia University School of International and Public Affairs and her JD from Fordham University School of Law.
