(CHARLOTTE, N.C.) - Parker Poe Adams & Bernstein LLP announced today that three attorneys have been elected partners in the firm.
Robert Jason Herndon is a member of Parker Poe’s Construction Litigation Group and works in the firm’s Raleigh office. Mr. Herndon has handled cases ranging from small payment disputes to multimillion dollar delay and defect claims. He serves as chairman of the Lien and Bond Law Revision Committee of the North Carolina Bar Association’s Construction Law Section. In 2010-2013, North Carolina Super Lawyers recognized Mr. Herndon as a “Rising Star” in Construction Litigation. He received his JD from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill in 2005 and his BS from Appalachian State University in 2002.
P. Scott Manning is a member of Parker Poe’s Tax Group and works in the firm’s Charlotte office. Mr. Manning regularly advises clients on corporate formations, taxable acquisitions and dispositions, tax-free reorganizations, corporate separations, joint ventures, foreign investment in the U.S. and transactions involving tax-exempt organizations. He previously served as attorney-advisor to the Hon. Thomas B. Wells of the United States Tax Court and as a legislative aide on Capitol Hill, where his work focused primarily on tax legislation. Mr. Manning received his LLM, Taxation from New York University in 2004, his JD from Emory University in 2003 and his BA from Davidson College in 1995.
John H. McTyeire is a member of Parker Poe’s Mergers, Acquisitions & Joint Ventures Group and works in the firm’s Raleigh office. Mr. McTyeire has represented clients in a variety of complex business transactions, including the purchase and sale of private companies and public company subsidiaries and divisions, entity restructurings and recapitalizations, the formation of joint ventures and other strategic business combinations and matters. Prior to joining Parker Poe, Mr. McTyeire clerked for two years for the Hon. Robert H. Edmunds, Jr., Associate Justice of the Supreme Court of North Carolina. He received his JD from Wake Forest University in 2004 and his BA from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill in 2001.
