(Raleigh, N.C.) — Jamie S. Schwedler, an attorney in Parker Poe’s Raleigh office, has been selected to attend the Council/District Council Exchange at the Urban Land Institute (ULI) spring meeting.

Ms. Schwedler was one of 38 Emerging Leaders from across the country chosen to participate in the program. The Council meetings focus on key topics affecting land use and development, and are exclusive, member-only events that will be held in Vancouver this April. Ms. Schwedler was selected to attend the University Development Product Council, which focuses on issues affecting campus development. As part of the program, Ms. Schwedler will also participate in the Emerging Leaders Roundtable, a networking and educational session held with the Emerging Leaders and more senior ULI members across the industry. The Emerging Leaders were nominated by their local chapters.

The prestigous spring meeting will attract more than 3,000 of the top leaders from every sector of real estate. The event will have highly interactive sessions and networking events, roundtable discussions and up-to-date information and trends from leading industry experts.  ULI is an independent global nonprofit supported by members representing the entire spectrum of real estate development and land use disciplines.

Ms. Schwedler has been an active member of the ULI Triangle’s Young Leaders Group, and has served as its Vice Chair for Communications.  She currently serves on the Steering Committee for the ULI’s Womens Leadership Initiative and the Communications Committee. In addition to her work with ULI, Ms. Schwedler is a member of the fundraising team for the Boys & Girls Club of Wake County.

Ms. Schwedler uses her prior experience as a landscape architect to advise developers and landowners on a full range of real property and development matters. Her representation has included navigating local and state regulations on real estate development, analyzing legal issues of transportation and infrastructure improvements, and litigating complex real property disputes. She also advises clients on the intersection of state and local tax, real property rights and contract law.
