COLUMBIA, S.C. — Parker Poe has again helped Viva Recycling of South Carolina enhance its ability to create jobs and recycled products from millions of used tires a year.
Viva Recycling processes scrap tires into environmentally responsible recycled rubber products for home, business and recreation. These tires are collected from a variety of sources throughout the Southeast, including landfills, municipalities and tire retailers.
Parker Poe attorneys had previously helped Viva secure $15.7 million in bond funding through the SC Jobs-Economic Development Authority (JEDA) for its Moncks Corner headquarters and production facility, which was established in 2011.
“For the Anderson project, we advised this innovative company on how to secure its new site and production facility, including working constructively with the very supportive County leadership to induce this project to locate in the area,” said Sam Moses, a Partner at Parker Poe. “We were honored to work with Viva Recycling once more and to see this company grow and prosper in the state,” added Ray Jones, a Partner at Parker Poe.
Viva's new facility, located at 3520 Abbeville Highway in Anderson, is expected to be operational by December 2014 and will implement the same recycling model used at its Berkeley County operation, where it now recycles more than four million tires per year.
The company's products include landscape mulch, playground safety flooring, artificial field in-fill, rubber sidewalks, rubber pavers, equestrian flooring, rubberized asphalt and many more items.
