The economic development team at Parker Poe Adams & Bernstein in Columbia and Charleston has helped hygiene materials producer Pantex International S.p.A establish its first North American manufacturing operation and regional headquarters.
Pantex Americas Inc. expects to employ 45 people in the next five years at its new facility in Simpsonville, South Carolina, where it will manufacture perforated nonwovens, composites and films for feminine hygiene applications as well as elastic laminates for baby care and adult incontinence fastening systems.
The company will operate out of a 140,000 square-foot Greenville County facility. Pantex’s decision will result in an investment $10.4 million and is expected to be fully operational in Fall 2015, joining the Company’s production facilities in the United Arab Emirates and Pantex’s global headquarters in Sulmona, Italy.
“This investment serves two purposes – to expand our capacity to produce successful, innovative products such as ‘cloth-like’ top sheets, while at the same time we increase the speed at which we bring new innovations to our customers in the American hygiene market.
