COLUMBIA, S.C. - Economic development professionals with Parker Poe Adams & Bernstein LLP facilitated Nutkao USA Inc. with establishing a nut butter manufacturing operation in Rocky Mount, N.C.
The Italian company’s first U.S. plant is now operating and is expected to eventually create 100 jobs in the 100,000 square foot building at the Whitaker Business and Industry Center. Nutkao produces hazelnut butter spreads, cocoa and cocoa/nut spreads, and milk and dark chocolate spreads.
“We’re thrilled to be getting our new operation underway in the United States and in Rocky Mount. We’ve found the ideal setting here, thanks to the help of the state of North Carolina, our local economic development partners, and the support of our legal advisors at Parker Poe,” said Nutkao USA President/CEO Davide Braida.
Parker Poe assisted the company with negotiations for state and local tax incentives and successfully navigated other corporate location issues.
“Helping an innovative, growing international food manufacturer like Nutkao establish itself here in the Carolinas has been an exciting project and we’re pleased to have a role in the process,” said Sam Moses, Partner at Parker Poe and co-chair of the firm’s Business Incentives & Investment Group.
