Charles Meeker, Partner in Parker Poe's Raleigh office and former Mayor of Raleigh, announced he will run for Labor Commissioner of North Carolina in 2016.

Charles Meeker counsels private and public clients including local governments. Mr. Meeker represents clients in civil trials and administrative hearings.

Mr. Meeker was elected to his fifth two-year term as Mayor of Raleigh in 2009. He was first sworn in as the City of Raleigh’s Mayor on December 3, 2001. Mr. Meeker did not seek what would have been a record-breaking sixth term and left the office of Mayor on December 5, 2011. He previously served as a member of the Raleigh City Council for eight years from 1985-1989 and 1991-1995.
