Charlotte, NC – NTE Carolinas, LLC, an affiliate of NTE Energy, hosted a groundbreaking on July 28, 2015 for the Kings Mountain Energy Center (“KMEC”), a new 475 megawatt natural gas electric generating facility in Cleveland County, North Carolina. Once complete, KMEC will be one of the cleanest and most efficient energy sources in the Carolinas. KMEC will have the capacity to power approximately 400,000 homes. The project is located south of Interstate 85 off Dixon School Road in Cleveland County, representing an investment of over $440 million providing numerous benefits to the local communities and their economies.
