Haier America is working with economic development professionals and attorneys from Parker Poe Adams & Bernstein LLP on the Chinese appliance maker’s expansion of its historic manufacturing plant in Kershaw County, South Carolina.

Haier is adding 410 new jobs and investing $72 million to add new equipment and tooling and, in addition, is adding another 250,000 square feet to the existing 365,000 square-foot facility.  This facility became the first manufacturing operation established by a Chinese company in America when it went into production in the year 2000 at the site at 50 Haier Boulevard in Camden, South Carolina.
