Attorneys with Parker Poe Adams & Bernstein LLP in Columbia have facilitated Auriga Polymers Inc. with expanding its commitment to the company’s Spartanburg County operation with a $35 million investment that will significantly increase its production capacity and product lines.

The 450-employee facility will add 15,000 tons of extrusion-based fiber spinning capacity that will include the ability to produce fibers based on environmentally friendly polymers as well as specialty polyester and post-consumer recycled polymers.

The Dewberry Road plant already produces polyester fibers, resins, and specialty polymers currently used in bottles, trays, sheets, film and textile applications. Parent company Indorama Ventures PLC also maintains its global research and development facilities there.

“Indorama Ventures is based in Thailand and has more than 59 facilities around the world. While the company could invest anywhere, its leaders chose the Southeast USA and specifically, South Carolina, because of the people and the ability to secure the kind of incentives and infrastructure they need as they continue to diversify their product lines and expand their capacity to produce in North America,” says Sam Moses, Partner in the Parker Poe Adams & Bernstein office in Columbia, SC, and Co-Chair of the firm’s Business Incentives & Investment Group.
