Charlotte, NC – Brad Overcash, Counsel in Parker Poe’s Charlotte office, was recently appointed to the Board of Trustees of Gaston College by Governor Pat McCrory. Gaston College is a community college with four campuses in Gaston and Lincoln counties with a focus on education and training for job growth. Brad will serve on the 15-member Board of Trustees through June 2020.
The official governing body of Gaston College is the Board of Trustees of Gaston College, which consists of members appointed by various agencies and government positions including the Gaston County Board of Education; the Gaston County Board of Commissioners; the Lincoln County Board of Commissioners; and the Governor of the State of North Carolina. Standing Board Committees include the Finance and Facilities Committees and the Campus Affairs Committee.
Brad Overcash represents clients in a broad range of litigation matters, including professional negligence defense, long-term care/nursing home defense, products liability, premises liability, patent litigation, commercial litigation, and general litigation. In addition, he provides counsel to business and health care clients beyond the area of litigation. Mr. Overcash has experience in creating, training, enforcing, and participating in the alternative dispute resolution process, including arbitration and mediation. Mr. Overcash also focuses on economic development initiatives, counseling domestic and international companies throughout the process and representing them in incentives negotiations with local and state officials.
