A North Carolina appeals court on Tuesday upheld a jury verdict clearing medical providers of negligence claims after a complicated birth. John Beyer was among the Parker Poe attorneys who represented the medical defendants. The decision confirmed that a lower court was correct to exclude expert testimony by someone who was not a health care professional.
“The case sets important precedent regarding qualification to offer medical causation testimony in North Carolina,” John Beyer told Law360. “I’m glad the court of appeals made a wise decision not to disturb a unanimous jury verdict.”
