Raleigh, N.C. – Parker Poe Adams & Bernstein LLP is pleased to announce that Raleigh partner Catharine Arrowood has been selected as a member of the inaugural class of the North Carolina Lawyers Hall of Fame, sponsored by North Carolina Lawyers Weekly.
Catharine was chosen for her career accomplishments, contributions to the development of the legal profession, and efforts to increase access to justice. She recently co-chaired the N.C. Commission on the Administration of Law and Justice (NCCALJ), which spent more than a year conducting a comprehensive review of North Carolina’s court system. She has also served as president of the North Carolina Bar Association and the Wake County Bar Association.
Catharine currently serves on the board of directors for TerraLex, one of the world’s leading international legal networks. She has also served as co-chair of TerraLex’s International Dispute Resolution Group since 2012. She is a Fellow in the American College of Trial Lawyers and a former chair of its International Committee. In addition, she is a member of the Aerospace, Aviation and National Security Panel of Arbitrators, which was created by both the International Centre for Dispute Resolution (ICDR) and the American Arbitration Association (AAA) to deal with complex, high-value cases unique to the aerospace, aviation and national security industries.
Catharine has lectured and written on various aspects of complex litigation, including managing complex cases, federal civil procedure, arbitration, and mediation. At Parker Poe, she has successfully litigated and arbitrated for large and small businesses for decades. Her clients have included educational institutions, utilities, insurance companies, accounting and law firms, health care and biotech firms, banks, and commercial aerospace companies.
Catharine and the other Hall of Fame members will be honored in Raleigh during a celebration on Tuesday, June 26.
