Bruce Thompson was quoted in the News & Record's recap of North Carolina's legislative session. He pointed out the progress that lawmakers made in certain areas that didn't attract as much media attention.
“When you step back from the partisan politics, you have a situation where a Democratic attorney general was able to work with legislators on both sides of the aisle” in addressing the opioid crisis, Bruce said as an example. He also noted that both parties were in agreement on raising teacher pay, although they disagreed on how big the raises should be.
