Charlotte, N.C. – Parker Poe Adams & Bernstein LLP is pleased to announce that The National Law Journal ranked the firm 55th in its 2018 Women’s Scorecard. The scorecard measures gender diversity among the 350 largest firms in the country, and it is produced as part of the NLJ 500, the publication’s annual survey of the largest U.S. law firms. The scorecard is calculated by adding each firm’s percentage of women attorneys with its percentage of women partners. The formula gives weight to women in partnership positions.
Over the past two years at Parker Poe, 63 percent of the attorneys promoted to partner have been women. In addition, nearly 30 percent of the firm’s board of directors is now female. Female attorneys lead multiple practice groups, industry teams, and internal committees, including the firm’s Diversity & Inclusion Committee. Parker Poe ranked ahead of many of its competitors, including much larger regional and national law firms.
The firm’s female attorneys are also recognized as leaders in their communities. Local business journals have named 11 of the firm’s female attorneys to their “40 Under 40” lists, which recognize the top business leaders under the age of 40. Five more were named to “Most Influential” lists. And one female partner was recently selected in the inaugural class of N.C. Lawyers Weekly’s Hall of Fame. Parker Poe continues to implement new programming and initiatives to actively recruit, retain, develop, and empower its diverse and female attorneys.
