Atlanta, Ga. – Parker Poe Adams & Bernstein LLP is pleased to announce the significant growth of its Atlanta office with the addition of five attorneys, one paralegal, one law clerk, and a legal professional assistant, bringing decades of experience in real estate litigation and transactions. The team of attorneys consists of:

  • Charles N. Pursley Jr.
  • Christian F. Torgrimson
  • Robert “Bob” R. Stubbs
  • Angela D. Robinson
  • Elizabeth R. Story

Charles Pursley and Christian Torgrimson are especially well-known in Georgia for eminent domain and condemnation law, representing businesses and property owners as well as governmental entities. Charles helped build the Atlanta area’s transit system by overseeing MARTA’s condemnation work and serving as its general counsel from 1984 through 2015. Christian previously led the Georgia State Bar’s Eminent Domain Section, is a nationally recognized speaker on eminent domain, and currently serves as the Georgia editor for the American Bar Association’s national eminent domain compendium.

Bob Stubbs has more than four decades of experience in commercial real estate leasing, acquisitions, and dispositions. He has provided counsel on some of Atlanta’s highest-profile properties. Angela Robinson has substantial experience representing both condemning authorities and property owners as well as advising clients on real estate transactions. A former staff attorney in the Cherokee Judicial Circuit, Elizabeth Story brings litigation experience in representing clients in condemnation and other types of real estate litigation.

They join Atlanta partner Ellen Smith, who came to Parker Poe about a year ago, in continuing to expand the firm’s Development Services Industry Team, which helps clients navigate the entire life cycle of real estate projects.

“Coming to Atlanta three years ago confirmed Parker Poe’s commitment to serve clients and communities throughout the Southeast,” says Parker Poe Managing Partner Tom Griffin. “We are thrilled that Charles, Christian, and their colleagues decided to join us in that commitment and help us build a full-service presence in Atlanta. We are also delighted with the cultural fit and dedication to growth that we share with our new team.”

“This is a great growth opportunity for our team and our clients,” Christian says. “It will allow us to expand the services we can provide clients with the support of a larger, well-established, and very reputable firm.”

“Parker Poe’s culture and values are consistent with the culture and values we have,” Charles adds. “We liked the idea of being able to join a larger firm with a strong support system in an office that is committed to growth. We are excited about participating in the growth in Atlanta.”
