Chris Thomas co-authored an article in the Triangle Business Journal on the implications of a U.S. Supreme Court copyright ruling.

"As Justice Ruth Bader Ginsburg recognizes in the first sentence of the U.S. Supreme Court’s recent unanimous decision in Fourth Estate Public Benefit Corporation v. Wall-Street.com, the Copyright Act compels the prompt registration of copyright claims," Chris wrote along with Catherine Lawson. "The takeaway from this decision is simple and straightforward for industries ranging from software developers to textile pattern makers in the Triangle: If you are an owner of copyrightable works it is more important than ever to quickly and systematically apply to register your copyrights."
