Columbia, S.C. – Parker Poe Adams & Bernstein LLP is pleased to announce that Will Thomas has been appointed to the SCBIO board of directors. The nonprofit is the leading organization representing the interests of the life sciences industry in South Carolina, and it is the official state affiliate of BIO, the U.S. Biotechnology Innovation Organization.
Will serves on the board of directors for the 501(c)(6) arm of SCBIO, which is focused on the improvement of business conditions for the industry. He joins other public and private stakeholders in providing leadership to the organization as it seeks to expand the footprint of life sciences businesses in South Carolina, including in the areas of pharmaceuticals, medical devices, and other types of biotechnology.
At Parker Poe, Will leads the firm’s Health Care Industry Team, which collaborates closely with the firm’s Life Sciences Industry Team. Will represents a variety of health care clients in litigation, regulatory, and transactional matters. He also counsels the firm’s life sciences clients on health care regulatory issues that affect their business operations and their products. Prior to entering the practice of law, Will worked as an administrator in an academic medical center and in a physician’s office, so he is uniquely familiar with both the operational and legal aspects of health care.
