George Pretty was quoted in an article in The Kansas City Star about the U.S. Department of Agriculture relocating hundreds of research jobs from Washington, D.C., to Kansas City. George provided perspective on how common it is for workers to stick with their employers on long-distance moves.
"It generally means that this is going to be a blend of new jobs for local citizens and regional citizens and a mix of people transferring into the region with new skills,” said George, who advises companies on headquarters moves and other relocations. George also provided context for a company's decision-making process with a major relocation.
