Atlanta, Ga. – Parker Poe Adams & Bernstein LLP is pleased to announce that Ellen W. Smith has been elected to the board of directors for The Atlanta Women’s Foundation. Ellen joins other leaders in their companies and communities on the board, which represents a wide range of industries across Atlanta.
As a board member, Ellen will provide leadership at an important time for The Atlanta Women’s Foundation, as it is concluding its 20th year. Since its founding, AWF has invested more than $17 million in Atlanta area nonprofits that have successfully moved women and girls from poverty to economic self-sufficiency. AWF also provides leadership and philanthropic training to a diverse group of professional women.
Ellen is extremely active in the Atlanta community. She has held leadership roles with Commercial Real Estate Women (CREW) Atlanta and the Cobb County Library Foundation. She is also a member of the Executive Committee for the Council for Quality Growth and a board member of the Georgia Wireless Association.
At Parker Poe, Ellen helps clients close real estate transactions, navigate land use and zoning, and resolve disputes. Her clients include Fortune 500 corporations, commercial real estate developers, telecommunications companies, and residential care facilities.
