Tom Griffin was quoted in a special publication of the Charlotte Business Journal recapping Charlotte's growth over the past decade. Tom, Parker Poe's managing partner, was among the prominent business leaders the publication went to for perspective.
Tom noted that the growth has drawn more law firms to Charlotte and increased competition.
"But Parker Poe is fortunate to represent many of the strongest companies in our region, old and new," he said. "We are aligned with our region’s economic drivers, an alignment that has driven our own growth and momentum across the Southeast. We have expanded into Atlanta and Washington, D.C., as a direct result of our connection to growing clients and industries in the Carolinas. We are invested in continued growth in Charlotte and are looking to add lawyers to our Charlotte platform."
Tom also discussed his biggest concern for the city's future.
"We need to ensure that opportunity and success in Charlotte are available across the community," he said. "Our city, business and nonprofit leaders are increasingly focused on improving economic mobility, and we have to get that right. Parker Poe takes pride in being part of that and many other efforts to build our community, volunteering for and leading efforts to address critical needs related to housing, education, health care, arts and the rights and needs of children."
