Raleigh, N.C. – Parker Poe Adams & Bernstein LLP is pleased to announce that Catharine Arrowood has won The Advocate’s Award from the Litigation Section of the North Carolina Bar Association. The NCBA established the award “to recognize members of the Litigation Section who are the ‘superstars’ of our profession.”
Catharine was chosen for having the highest ethical standards, having shown great skill as a litigator, demonstrating a true commitment to client service and a love of the law, being held in the highest regard by her peers and judges, being dedicated to the community, and serving as “an example of how to effectively balance both outstanding professional performance and other life endeavors,” according to the NCBA.
Catharine co-chaired the N.C. Commission on the Administration of Law and Justice (NCCALJ), which spent more than a year conducting a comprehensive review of North Carolina’s court system. She has also served as president of the North Carolina Bar Association and the Wake County Bar Association. She was selected as a member of the inaugural class of the North Carolina Lawyers Hall of Fame, sponsored by North Carolina Lawyers Weekly.
Catharine currently serves on the board of directors for TerraLex, one of the world’s leading international legal networks. She has also served as co-chair of TerraLex’s International Dispute Resolution Group since 2012. She is a Fellow in the American College of Trial Lawyers and a former chair of its International Committee. In addition, she serves on the board of trustees of UNC Rex Healthcare, as well as the boards of directors of the North Carolina Symphony Foundation and the North Carolina Community Foundation and as vice chair of Direct Women.
