John Beyer was quoted in Modern Healthcare on legal protections for hospitals and other providers amid the coronavirus pandemic. 

Congress is currently debating whether to extend liability protections and if those protections should cover hospitals' administrative policies. John said he expects to see more claims against those policies as opposed to just against individual providers. 

"With these administrative-type claims, it would be helpful to have some limited liability because this is such uncharted territory for all of us," he said. 

John also noted that North Carolina included entire health care entities in its law to limit liability for providers responding to the COVID-19 crisis.
