In a podcast that aired on July 14, 2020 in Litigation Finance Journal, Michael Kelley discussed litigation funding from an in-house perspective. He shared why GCs might be reluctant to adopt funding, and whether those tendencies are changing post-COVID. He also provided insight on what funders can do to differentiate themselves as they approach the GC market.
“I think that the general counsel / corporate use of litigation finance is the next evolutionary phase of the industry as we saw with law firms over time they became more familiar with the asset class and what it could mean for their own practices, and of course what it means for their clients,” explains Kelley.
Michael Kelley was recently named as one of the Lawdragon Global 100 Leaders in Legal Finance. He is one of only 10 advisors, and Parker Poe is one of only three law firms, who made the list. You can read more about this recognition here.
