Bruce Thompson analyzed federal and state election results in a live interview on WRAL-TV.
“Trump really needed to outperform him (Biden) and clearly he’s done that,” Bruce said when asked to analyze what the polling missed. “Possibly, the polling was not taking into consideration maybe how good of a field operation the Republicans have in North Carolina.”
He also said that while Biden couldn’t hold the traditional campaign rallies because of the COVID-19 pandemic, he still made many stops in the state.
“Frankly, Biden overperformed what Hillary Clinton did in 2016," he said. "I think the thing we didn’t take into consideration was the fact that Trump was going to outperform what he did in 2016 as well.”
In addition, Bruce analyzed the U.S. Senate race involving Republican Thom Tillis and Democrat Cal Cunningham.
