Charlotte, N.C. – Parker Poe Adams & Bernstein LLP is pleased to announce that Charlotte counsel Michael Chen has been appointed to the leadership team of the North Carolina Bar Association’s International Practice Section. As a member of that team, called the council, Michael will help provide educational, legislative, and networking resources for professionals across North Carolina engaged in cross-border issues and international affairs.
The NCBA’s International Practice Section reviews current developments in international law and trade, monitors federal and state legislation and regulations, and advocates on behalf of its members, who include attorneys and other professionals. The section also provides continuing legal education, networking and pro bono opportunities, and a forum to discuss the latest issues impacting international clients.
In addition, Michael is a leader in the Charlotte region on Asian American issues, including through his service as president of the Charlotte Taiwanese American Association. He serves on the board of directors for the North Carolina Chapter of the Taiwanese Chamber of Commerce of North America. He is also on the board of the Charlotte Chinese School, where he serves as vice principal. He is fluent in conversational Chinese (Mandarin and Taiwanese).

He represents U.S. and foreign-owned companies, including clients in the biomedical, manufacturing and distribution, commercial sales, information technology, hospitality, and sports and entertainment industries.
