Columbia, S.C. – Parker Poe Adams & Bernstein LLP is pleased to announce that David Summer was selected by his peers as the top attorney in his practice area. The voting was part of the process in determining “Legal Elite” rankings across South Carolina for 2021. In all, six Parker Poe attorneys were ranked.
Columbia Business Monthly, Charleston Business Magazine, and Greenville Business Magazine ask every active attorney in each city to vote for the best attorneys in their fields. Those with the most votes are named Legal Elite, and the top vote-getters are named lawyer of the year.
Lawyer of the Year
David Summer was named Columbia’s lawyer of the year for health care for the fifth straight year. David has three decades of experience as a trusted adviser to hospitals and health care providers throughout the country. He currently serves on Parker Poe’s board of directors and is a former leader of the firm’s Health Care Practice Group.
Additional Legal Elite
Richard Few was named Legal Elite for corporate law in Greenville. Richard’s practice includes strategic tax planning and structuring business mergers, sales, acquisitions and reorganizations, economic development, and commercial and public financings for U.S. and international businesses.
Todd Haynie was named Legal Elite for banking and finance in Columbia. Todd focuses his transactional work in commercial lending and real estate. He has represented major lending institutions and borrowers in a variety of financing transactions, including construction and permanent real estate loans, asset-based loans, and loan workouts and restructurings.
Amy Allen Hinson was named Legal Elite in Greenville for intellectual property and innovation, as well as for retail/consumer products. Amy is a registered U.S. patent attorney who counsels clients on developing broad protections for their intellectual property both nationally and internationally. She serves as a strategic business partner to clients in a variety of industries.
Will Thomas was named Legal Elite for health care in Columbia. Will represents a variety of health care clients in litigation, regulatory issues, and transactions, which have the tendency to blend together and overlap. He is also the former leader of Parker Poe's Health Care Industry Team.
