Parker Poe Partner and Chief Talent, Diversity & Inclusion Officer, Shalanna Pirtle, has been named to Savoy Magazine’s list of 2022 Most Influential Black Lawyers. The list recognizes a diverse range of partners within leading law firms and corporate counsel from Fortune 1000 corporations.

A goal of the Savoy list publication is to select a “comprehensive list of extraordinary lawyers” who were chosen based on their expertise, annual billing, firm leadership, pro bono work, community service and overall reputation.  Shalanna has proven herself in all of these influencer categories and made an impact during her 15 years with Parker Poe as a key contributor on multiple fronts. As a Partner in the firm’s Employment group, Shalanna provides counsel and litigation defense to employers, and also works as a certified mediator to help parties resolve disputes. As a firm leader, Shalanna has, among other things, served as Chair of the Diversity, Equity and Inclusion Committee for five years, mentored countless associates, advised the firm’s Board of Directors, and is now a member of the firm’s executive management team. In the community, Shalanna has dedicated numerous hours advancing programs and services that improve the lives of others, including as a volunteer with the YMCA, a former Board Member for KIPP Charlotte charter school, and as the Legislative Chair of the Charlotte Chapter of Jack and Jill of America, Inc.
