Symrise Pet Food, a French subsidiary of the German conglomerate, Symrise Group, aims to expand its presence in the North American flavor and nutrition market through a new investment in Greenwood County, South Carolina.
Symrise Pet Food announced its plans today to expand its North American headquarters and operations in Hodges, South Carolina with a $65.5 million investment. The investment will create 65 new jobs to meet the growing demand for its powder palatant product, a key aspect of the dry pet food manufacturing process.
Symrise Pet Food offers multiple products and services to global pet food manufacturers to improve pet food palatability, nutrition, and protection. Its three expert brands include Pet Food Palatability with SPF, Pet Nutrition with Nutrios and Pet Food Protection with Videka (a joint venture with Kalsec®). The company operates on five continents with 1,500 employees and 31 industrial sites around the world. Symrise Pet Food is a part of the Taste, Nutrition & Health division of the larger Symrise Group, a global supplier of fragrances, flavors, food and cosmetic ingredients.
Symrise Pet Food opened its first operations in Greenwood County in 2007.
