Ellen Smith was the keynote speaker for the Atlanta chapter of the Appraisal Institute’s Q3 meeting. Ellen’s presentation focused on how appraisal work can make or break a real estate development from straight valuations for purchases, dispositions, and lending, but also for development opportunities, economic development, and compensation for the bundles of property rights. She discussed the nuts and bolts of zoning and eminent domain and how the legal rubric guiding rights relies on various valuation opportunities.
