Atlanta, GA – Parker Poe Adams & Bernstein LLP is pleased to announce that Alonzo Llorens is now the general counsel of the American Association of Blacks in Energy. Alonzo is serving as the AABE’s top legal officer in a pro bono capacity.

The AABE was founded in 1977. Today, it is a national association of energy professionals who work to ensure that energy policies are developed with the input of Black people and other minorities. The association also encourages the public and private sectors to be responsive to the problems and goals of Black people in energy-related fields, and it encourages Black students to pursue careers in those fields through scholarships and other financial aid. 

Alonzo is a partner in Parker Poe’s Atlanta office who is committed to community service, including through roles with Leadership Atlanta and 100 Black Men of Atlanta. He is a former board member for the Metro Atlanta Chamber of Commerce and has been recognized with the Atlanta Business League’s Men of Influence Award.

Alonzo focuses his legal practice on corporate law and represents clients ranging from startups to Fortune 500 companies, including in energy-related fields. He focuses his corporate practice on capital markets and finance, mergers and acquisitions, securities compliance, corporate governance, minority business enterprise (MBE) certification, and structuring and navigating compliance with MBE transactions. He also has substantial experience advising clients in the sports and entertainment industry.
