In an article published by the Tampa Bay Business Journal, Bruce Thompson is quoted about attracting large advanced manufacturing projects.

"A lot of times, a client will come to me and say, 'Here are the states we want to take a look at.' And I'm not hearing Florida from them in these [sectors]," he said.

"I don't know if there's any one thing that's causing that. I think the geography of manufacturing and where it's going plays a role. And I think the states that are working hand-in-hand with the federal government to attract this type of manufacturing, those are the ones that are winning."
