Charlotte, NC – Parker Poe Adams & Bernstein LLP is pleased to announce that Lawyers Weekly publications have named Sarah Crotts and Will Thomas to their Healthcare Power List in North Carolina and South Carolina. The publications’ staff members combed through nominations and web research to assemble the list of leaders in the Carolinas.
Sarah Crotts, counsel in Charlotte, has more than 15 years of experience advising physician groups, medical spas, hospitals, insurers, life sciences companies, and a range of health care providers. She has particularly extensive knowledge of health care compliance issues. She has helped clients navigate federal and state regulations regarding the Stark Law, Anti-Kickback Statute, anti-markup rule, account billing laws, corporate practice of medicine, Medicare reimbursement, Physician Payments Sunshine Act, certificate of need requirements, HIPAA, and the HITECH Act. She has also counseled clients on responding to government and insurance company audit requests. In addition, she has reviewed, revised, and drafted managed care agreements for both providers and insurance companies.
Will Thomas, partner in Columbia, represents a variety of health care clients in litigation, regulatory issues, and transactions, which have the tendency to blend together and overlap. He is also the former leader of Parker Poe's Health Care Industry Team. Prior to entering the practice of law in 1999, Will worked as an administrator in an academic medical center and in a physician's office, so he is uniquely familiar with both the operational and legal aspects of health care. His clients include general acute care hospitals, individual physicians and physician practices, urgent care centers, nursing homes, rehabilitation hospitals, psychiatric hospitals, ambulance companies, group homes, radiation therapy centers, and ambulatory surgery centers.
North Carolina Lawyers Weekly and South Carolina Lawyers Weekly profiled Sarah and Will as part of their coverage of the Healthcare Power List.
