Charleston, SC – Parker Poe Adams & Bernstein LLP is pleased to announce that Taylor Stair has been elected to the board of directors for the Charleston Home Builders Association (CHBA). Taylor will play a large role in the nonprofit's efforts to support homebuilders and encourage growth and development within the Lowcountry.
The CHBA was founded in 1959 and serves as the leading association advocating for homebuilders and the local building community in the Charleston region, including Charleston, Dorchester, Berkeley, and Colleton counties. CHBA members consist of residential contractors, remodelers, and developers, in addition to members representing all professions that support the homebuilding industry.
At Parker Poe, Taylor focuses his practice on protecting homebuilders. His clients range from some of the largest homebuilders in the nation to regional builders and local custom-home builders. He advises on issues that arise before, during, and after construction. He drafts, reviews and revises, and negotiates builders' contracts with homeowners and trades. He advises homebuilders on claims avoidance and risk transfer, and he resolves formal claims through litigation and arbitration.
Taylor places a major emphasis on proactive, preventative counseling to help homebuilders avoid costly claims. When a dispute cannot be avoided, he knows how to resolve it. He has resolved complex construction claims involving multifamily projects and single family homes. His overriding goal is to resolve all disputes as quickly and inexpensively as possible.
