On September 21, Ellen Smith will speak on a panel at the 2023 CREW Network Convention in Atlanta. The panel will discuss how a group of CREW Network members came together to build affordable housing in a market that did not have or want it. The team worked with local officials and the community to come up with a plan that both could support. Ellen has deep experience in land use and zoning and she has worked on every kind of transaction in the commercial real estate industry. She's also a leader within Parker Poe, serving as the firm's Atlanta Office Development Partner.

The panel will discuss how the CREW Network has the talent and experience to deliver affordable housing in a previously unwilling area. Ellen will be joined on the panel by Karla Burck, executive vice president of development with KCG Companies and Jessica Hoover, a civil engineer with Kimley-Horn.
