John was nominated by his peers and honored among the 15 most-respected medical malpractice attorneys in North Carolina, which the publication's editorial team identified after interviewing attorneys and other leaders around the state.

John is a former leader of Parker Poe's Professional Negligence & Product Liability Defense Group. He has 25 years of trial experience representing hospitals, physicians, nurses, and other learned professionals in state and federal court. He also has extensive experience representing professionals before state licensing boards. 

John currently serves as Parker Poe's general counsel, advising the firm and its lawyers on a variety of risk management issues, regulatory compliance matters, the rules of professional conduct, and legal ethics. He also serves on the firm's board of directors.
