Charlotte, NC — Parker Poe Adams & Bernstein LLP is pleased to announce that LaToya Parker represented the Mecklenburg County Bar in connection with its recent move to a new office building.

Working on a pro bono basis, LaToya guided the Bar through its lease negotiation process.

The Bar’s new home will be the Addison Building at 831 E. Morehead St. where it will lease 3,500 square feet. Built in 1926 for apartments, the building was later converted to office space. It is registered as a local historic landmark.

Today, the building sits across from The Pearl medical innovation district, a prominent development that will soon be home to the Wake Forest University School of Medicine - Charlotte. It will be smaller than the bar’s previous office space to fit their needs today.

“Our space is comfortable and professional,” Mecklenburg County Bar President Cary Davis wrote in a message about the new home. He expressed his gratitude to LaToya and Danny Merlin, another attorney who assisted the organization on its real estate moves. He described their “wise counsel” helping with what can be a stressful and unsettling time.

LaToya is also representing the Mecklenburg Bar Foundation in the sale of the Bar & Foundation Center.

LaToya is a real estate partner in Parker Poe’s Charlotte office, where she advises companies and individuals in the acquisition, sale, development, leasing, and financing of commercial real estate.
