Raleigh, NC — Parker Poe Adams & Bernstein LLP is pleased to announce that the Triangle Business Journal has named Michael Crook among the 40 top business leaders under the age of 40 in the region. Michael was selected by a panel of the Triangle Business Journal’s executive team for his impact on Raleigh’s business and civic community.
Michael is a partner and a leader within Parker Poe. As a trusted advisor, Michael serves as a real property litigator who regularly represents Fortune 500 companies as well as large and small businesses. Michael has facilitated the expansion of public transportation, had a hand in upgrading and expanding utility systems, promoted development of public projects, and broadened availability of domestic energy sources. Michael’s practice focuses on eminent domain as well as helping his clients navigate land use and commercial lease disputes.
Michael chairs Parker Poe's Pro Bono Committee, coordinating pro bono initiatives across all eight of the firm's offices, championing pro bono opportunities throughout the southeastern United States for the firm’s nearly 300 lawyers. Under his leadership, the firm provides thousands of hours of free legal advice each year and, in June 2023, the North Carolina Bar Association honored Parker Poe with the Outstanding Collaborative/Group Pro Bono Service Award and the Law Firm Pro Bono Award. The first award recognized Parker Poe’s partnership with Pisgah Legal Services to represent Afghan evacuees in applying for asylum in western North Carolina after the Taliban took control of Afghanistan. The second recognized the firm’s work in representing the interests of abused and neglected children, advising on the development of affordable housing for senior citizens, protecting the intellectual property rights of nonprofits, and providing legal assistance to refugees seeking asylum from Afghanistan, Ukraine, Nigeria, and other countries.
Michael will be honored along with the other award winners at an event on June 12 at Fletcher Hall in Raleigh.
